Use Transitionals while scrolling

Jun 22, 2010 at 12:36 PM

Hi,

I would like to know  if we can use Transitionals with a ListBox, so that I can show some kind of animation while scrolling.

For E.g: I would like to show FlipTransition while I scroll the content of ListBox.

Thanks in advance,

You'll probably never see this because it's really overkill for what you want. With WPF 4 and Silverlight 4, ListboxItem has three new visual states: BeforeLoaded, AfterLoaded and BeforeUnloaded. You can simply use Blend 4 to modify the appearance of the object in each of those states and the runtime will extrapolate an animation for you. You can even use easing functions to add bounce, friction, etc.

For more information, see this video:

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I really wish I am): LayoutStates are a Silverlight-only feature at the moment. There currently is no good way to achieve that in WPF 4.
